Architecture & History

Steeped in history, the original property dates from the 18th century and was formerly the Adelaide Hospital.

The building was fully refurbished and modernised throughout c.2000. A modern extension was built onto the East Wing of the building which together with the original property, provided almost 20,000sqft of Grade A offices, 31 basement car parking spaces and a modern sixteen person passenger lift.

The original building was ultimately incorporated into a mixed use development with both the commercial portion of the building and its newer residential neighbour overlooking a peaceful and sun soaked courtyard.

As a result of it’s 18th century origins, the building benefits from high ceiling and wonderful natural ventilation.

The building is truly a marriage of old and new. As you enter the building you are greeted with a grand reception area leading to a stunning Georgian staircase. Looking upwards, you are graced with a beautifully proportioned four storied curved staircase, capped with a glass atrium that allows natural light to flood down through the hallways into the reception area.

Old meets new seamlessly at every turn in this building. The lift lobby and rear staircase is clad with an impressive glass curtain wall that over-looks the compound’s courtyard. The office areas of the building benefit from high ceilings and an abundance of natural light along with the natural ventilation that only a building of this age can achieve.

The building is testament to the most environmentally friendly of properties. Two hundred years of stored carbon has been re-purposed for modern use without demolition and with great sensitivity to the grace and charm of the original design.
